Water body remediation, Fish and Shrimp Farming

Problem

Located in Guatemala, Fresh Quest Melon Farm is part of Xela Enterprises, based in Toronto, Canada. The farm uses water from wells and local rivers retained in holding ponds used to irrigate the fields through a drip system. Like any water body, these ponds often experience bacteria build up which could promote E-Coli threatening the quality of the farm's melons.

Solution

Blue Planet Environmental has installed patented oxygenation technology, the 'h' unit, and ultra-violet sterilization systems in a 46,500 cubic meter irrigation system, eliminating the recall of irrigation contaminated produce by irrigating with bacteria free, oxygenated water.

Result

The 'h'-units and UV filters have performed as expected and have fulfilled their role in quality control.
